Satguru’s Rendezvous rises with a sculptural pink silhouette

Satguru’s Rendezvous by Satguru Developers breaks away from the monotony of grey high-rises that dominate Mumbai’s skyline. Designed in collaboration with NUDES, led by Indian architect Nuru Karim, the 22-story condominium reaches nearly 90 meters, transforming a former residential structure into a landmark defined by its pink facade, tiered form, and curvaceous base. The project challenges the generic vocabulary of urban residential towers in India, offering instead a nuanced response to its site, cultural identity, and the contemporary city.

‘The building stands as a rare and exciting development in Indian architecture, marking a significant moment in its evolution,’ says Sharan Babani, director – design, development, sales & acquisitions at Satguru Developers. ‘For too long, modern Indian design has lacked a distinct voice and struggled to define an architectural identity. We at Satguru Builders shared a combined vision and enthusiasm with Nuru Karim to create a new modern Indian architectural language, empowering him to realise this goal. His exceptional work here offers a powerful new direction, a bold step towards forging a truly contemporary Indian architectural language.’

Fluid overhangs soften the pink building’s shape in mumbai

At its foundation, Mumbai-based Satguru Developers’ and NUDES building revisits urban living through a sequence of stacked volumes, crowned by a sunset deck with sweeping views of the Arabian Sea. The three-story podium anchors the project to the street with a gently curved form. This base integrates lush greenery, walking tracks, and shared recreational zones, a deliberate move to carve out moments of calm within Mumbai’s urban fabric. Above it, the residential portion accommodates the existing housing society members on the lower floors with the addition of expansive four-bedroom units above.

The facade’s pink hue is a visual and symbolic gesture, inspired by India’s national flower, the lotus. Concrete flutings and fluid overhangs soften Satguru’s Rendezvous’ massing, giving it a sculptural, almost animated quality that shifts with the light. Terraces and herb gardens punctuate the structure, encouraging biodiversity while fostering community interaction.
